About Nigel

My earliest memory of fishing was sitting on the riverbank in Cambridge with a homemade bamboo rod, catching perch and roach with maggots and worms. I was five years old.

Since then fishing has stayed in my life consistently, from the early beginnings on the riverbank to destinations around the world, to name a few, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Cuba and Norway. I’ve also competed in competitions throughout the country.

In 2005 I decided to share my passion for fishing with others and became a fly fishing coach. I trained through 1st 4 sport, and am now a fully qualified Level 2 ADB Coach, a member of the Professional Anglers Association, the Angling Trust and The Game Angling Instructors’ Association. Fully insured, DBS checked and child protection certified.

Guiding and tuition usually takes place on my home waters of Chigboro Fisheries or Hanningfield Reservoir. Alternatively I am happy to guide at a venue closer to you.

The aim for the day is to become familiar with the equipment and most importantly get you casting to a level where we can go and catch a few trout, and if you would like to take one home you may.

By the end of the days lesson, you will have the knowledge to fish for yourself with confidence.
